Now's a great time to make a gift to your favorite service organization

And Past District Governor and D6380 Major Gifts Chair, Don Riddell, reminds us, "'tis the season for giving to your favorite service organization."

The 2016-17 Rotary year marks the 100th anniversary of The Rotary Foundation (TRF). This presents two unique opportunities to give before December 31, 2016.

First, tax rates are likely to decrease after the New Year due to election results. You can take advantage of this when arranging your Rotary gift this year.

TRF, for example, will accept almost any kind of gift including appreciated stock, land, and property.

You can also purchase a Rotary Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA). This allows you to take an approximate 25% tax deduction before the end of the year and enjoy a steady income stream for the lives of you and your spouse. Best of all, about 75% of this income stream is non-taxable.

Note: Canada does not allow CGAs.

Second, anything you give this Rotary year will go toward our D6380 Million Dollar Dinner campaign. We’ve already identified at least $450,000 toward our goal!

So now is a great time to burnish your legacy and demonstrate your love of our great organization.
