December is Rotary International Disease Prevention and Treatment month. This Area of Focus is familiar to most of us because of the numerous projects supported by clubs and the Rotary Foundation throughout the world. I urge you all to define your role in promoting improved health at home, in your communities and abroad in addition to supporting those vital programs that contribute to healthy communities and peaceful communities.
Rotary's top priority is the eradication of polio, but Rotarians take on far greater responsibilities to fight disease. They set up health camps and training facilities in undeveloped countries and in communities struggling with afflictions such as HIV/AIDS and malaria. Rotarians also design and build the infrastructure for doctors, nurses, governments, and partner to reach the one in six people in the world who can't afford to pay for health care.
How can you help? Please support the health education programs that explain how diseases are spread, promote ways to reduce the risk of transmission, and support immunization campaigns against infectious diseases. As incoming Rotary International President Elect Jennifer Jones recently noted during our Foundation + Membership Event, “We are a group of folks who immunize and get immunized.”
December also is the midpoint in our Rotary year and the end to an exhausting 2021. We all continue to feel the impact of COVID. My heartfelt sympathies go out to those who have experienced loss or hardship during this difficult period. Despite this year's limitations, I am inspired by the opportunities we’ve found. Clubs have discovered new and innovative ways to fundraise and community activities to help them stay engaged, relevant and impactful. Most clubs are moving back to much welcomed in-person meets by implementing protocols to keep everyone safe. Thank you all for making a positive difference in our communities and around the world - especially at a time when it is most needed.
Lastly, we had an amazing November raising awareness for our Rotary Foundation. Thank you to all who donated and participated in the main events throughout the District. With the holiday season upon us, I, like you, am looking forward to enjoying quality time with my family and friends. I am grateful for all that our Rotary family is doing to help others during this season in our communities and around the world.

• Wow, what an amazing November we’ve had! We increased our Rotary Foundation giving and awareness by having targeted events and continued club engagement. Well-done Rotarians! Your generosity helps give RI and our local clubs support for doing good in the future.
• Our District numbers grown by over 65+ new members in the first 6 months. Thank you for your continued support of our District Membership Committee’s campaign of “Each One Bring One.”
• Our District Youth Exchange team recently held OUTBOUND Student interviews in Canada and the US. I’m excited to share that our Youth Exchange program is reemerging from the “hibernation” period over the last 2 years. YAY!
• We have released and made available our new District Wide Speaker list for all clubs to access on the District6380 website. Foundation Highlights
Increased awareness and donations for The Rotary Foundation through seminars, club communication and the Foundation Gala
Increased PolioPlus awareness and donations (this was the largest single year since 2012) through club events and district presentations
Our District, Clubs and Members rallied and united in giving to Ukraine humanitarian efforts through the use of District Designated Funds, individual and Club donations to RI Disaster Response Fund, Shelter Box and also through personal donations directly to Ukraine Rotary Clubs
