Rotary Fellowships - Rotary International's June Focus

Rotary Fellowships Month recognizes the importance of international fellowship and goodwill among Rotarians with similar recreational and vocational interests.  There are over 100 themed groups available and if you can't find a group that focuses on your particular interest, you can start a special Fellowship on your own.

While District 6380 does not offer official "Fellowships,"  District Rotarians have had opportunities throughout the year to explore common interests, raise awareness and form connections at events such as the Environmental Work Day, the INSPIREX Speaker Series, the Interact Day of Peace along with the DEIJ and Peace committee meetings and most recently, our Annual District Conference Celebration “All About the Clubs.”

At this year’s conference, we enhanced our fellowship opportunities by highlighting and celebrating YOU - the Members, Leaders and Clubs in District 6380.  WooWoo’s Club Hub was a hit allowing all attendees the opportunity to form new connections and friendships.
The club presentations were informative and provided ideas and ways to collaborate for the future.

We heard from amazing speakers such as Congresswoman Debbie Dingell, an active member of Trenton Rotary; Jackie Huie who pioneered a student mentoring program with the St Joseph/Benton Harbor Rotary Clubs; and Rebecca Chamberlain-Creanga who shared her recent experiences in Romania and the Ukraine.  Rotary CEO John Hewko sent a personalized message to Governor WooWoo and District 6380 which was indeed a highlight for me!

There was a definite focus on youth through our outstanding entertainment including a high school choir, jazz band and Indian dancers  who shared their expertise and amazing talents.  Lastly the dedication of the District 6380 Peace Pole on the grounds of Paradise Park helped solidify our hope for Peace on Earth for current and future generations.

As your 2021-2022 Governor or as I like to say, your CEEO “Chief Encouragement and Excitement Officer,”  I was honored to be a part of our year-end festivities and hope that those who attended found the conference both engaging and FUN.

In this last edition of the Team “WooWoo” Inside Scoop, I'd like to recap some of our District Goals, Accomplishments and Achievements.  The year was driven by goals set early on in order to assist District 6380 and its members not only in 2021-2022 but in upcoming years.  My focus was to Engage, Excite and Have Fun.  We’ve had to be innovative and  adaptive in order to maintain that focus and you were!  Our clubs have done a great job carrying out the mantra of Serving to Change Lives during the prolonged pandemic.
