Governor "WooWoo's" Message
"Together, we make amazing things happen!"

SPECIAL DISTRICT CONFERENCE EDITION

This month Rotary celebrates our youth and their amazing accomplishments.  During Youth Service month, please take the time to showcase your sponsored Rotaract and Interact clubs and their projects.  Invite them to a meeting so that they can share their activities with your members and make sure to support their projects by your attendance and contributions!  These young people are the future of Rotary and the future of the world.

I'm proud to announce that our Annual District Conference Celebration “All About the Clubs” will also have a strong youth emphasis.  As your honored Governor for 2021-2022 or as I like to say,  your CEEO “Chief Encouragement and Excitement Officer,” I am very excited to share more details about our District 6380 Conference Celebration coming up in Novi Michigan on Friday, May 20th at Paradise Park Amusement Center and Saturday, May 21st at the Suburban Showplace Collection.

This year my focus has been to Engage, Excite and Have Fun and our upcoming conference focus will be no different.  Rotarians, you have worked hard this year to be innovative and have adapted well during this prolonged pandemic while leading with an emphasis on  Serving to Change Lives.  Join us at the conference to celebrate the results!

At this year’s annual conference, my amazing District Conference Committee and I have planned something for everyone!   We'll hear from our District Leadership committees but most importantly, we'll hear from all of YOU, the clubs.  This two-day event will concentrate on Fellowship and Engagement, much-needed elements for Rotarians.  I hope your club is signed up for a booth in the first ever District 6380’s “WooWoo’s Club Hub” (House of Friendship) in addition to securing a speaker slot for your club’s presentation.  Your presentation and booth will give all District Rotarians an update on your club's events and successes.  By engaging with each other, I hope you'll create new bonds and expand your fellowship beyond the four walls of your club.  There are 47 clubs and 1500 members throughout our SE Michigan and SW Ontario District to connect with. WooWoo!!

Foundation Focus

May is a time for us to review our club's giving to The Rotary International Foundation, PolioPlus and the Ukraine Disaster Efforts.  I urge you to give to support our Rotary International Foundation initiatives

District 6380 has responded by giving more than ever before to PolioPlus.  At both the District and Club levels, we also have made the tragedy in Ukraine a priority by our donations to the Rotary Disaster Response Fund and Shelterbox .

It's not too late to  join the ranks of Every Rotarian Every Year by making a donation of $25 or more.  Your dollars support hundreds of projects that provide dignity, comfort and peace to others who have so little.  Thank you for caring.  To donate: https://www.rotary.org/en/donate

Individual and Club contributions are critical to supporting the future good work of our Rotary Foundation.  Let me extend my appreciation to all those who have made a donation this year.
