Please Join Us in Building Peace!
Following the successful World Peace Conference 2017 in Ann Arbor, organizers formed a Peace Committee within the Rotary Club of Ann Arbor to keep the momentum going.  We invite members from all clubs in the District to join us.
Our committee’s mission is to work locally and globally for peace, social justice, and the non-violent resolution of conflict.  To begin this work, we created a 2018-19 Action Plan with local, regional, and international goals.
We need your participation to implement this ambitious Action Plan!  Click on "Read More" for the Rest of the Story and Photo

Utilizing funds from the conference, to date we have been able to:

  • Co-sponsor a Peace in the Streets event held April 20-21, 2018 at Wayne State University
  • Fund several students at the Ralph Bunche Summer Institute
  • Help local student Madison Vorva receive Rotary Global Grant Scholarship funding for her Masters program at Cambridge University in the U.K.
  • Sponsor a noted speaker at the Yale Indigenous People's Pow Wow, and we hope to work also with the Dance for Mother Earth Pow Wow in Ann Arbor in the spring of 2019.

Did You Know?
Promoting Peace is listed as Rotary's Number 1 Cause. It’s fair to say that everything that Rotary does, from Polio eradication to a universal access playground, to designing homes for the homeless, helps promote peace.  What projects has your club done recently that fulfill this broad definition of peace building?
