The Rotary Club of Chatham participates once again in the 5th annual Shop with a Hero
Over 30 club members participated in Shop with a Hero on December 19th. More than 130 children had the chance to shop for their family with Emergency Service Workers including Police, Fire and Ambulance.
Each child is provided with $100 to purchase Christmas gifts for their family. They are assisted by their Emergency Service Buddy. The only caveat for the children is one of the gifts they buy must be for themselves.
After shopping the children are treated to breakfast and an opportunity to play. While they do that the community volunteers wrap their gifts. It is a marvelous event equally enjoyed by the volunteers.
There is truly nothing better then laughing, smiling and happy children during the Christmas Season.
